Rising Damp Issues
Dampness can cause serious damage to buildings, this is caused by the build up of moisture by damp land or inadequately built properties. Structural problems such as leaky roofs can cause mould build up and has the potential to cause health issues such as asthma and other respiratory problems.
Here are some findings on inspections carried out recently:
Damage to external downpipe continually landing onto external wall and water transferred into internal wall and plaster.
We check damp issues with:
- Moisture Checker
- Thermal Imaging Camera
- Visual identification during a building inspection
- Peeling paint, plaster, mortar crumbling and salt stains.
A Thermal Camera can help you detect a problem prior to removal of walls floors and ceilings. A non-destructive inspection is carried out which can highlight missing insulation, water damage, and plumbing issues. Saves time and money.
- Water leaks, moisture and mould detection – A client of ours recently had water damage on the ceiling, when we used the camera to track the leak we found a faulty pipe from the air-conditioning system. The air-con system was repaired and our maintenance and repair team replaced/repaired the roof with plasterboard. The business owner was thankful we resolved the problem before it became a major issue.
Leaky water pipes in bathrooms can be detected, leaks in roof pipes and blockages in down-pipes.
